Ladies and Gentlemen,
Austrian emperor Franz Joseph, visiting Galicia, said about Ustrzyki Dolne: "This town will make the big time ..." The emperor's words appeared to be prophetic. From the town of less than 1,5 thousand people, Ustrzyki transformed itself into the most inhabited town in Bieszczady and it still remained a centre of the most dynamic development in the region.
The town and the surroundings, by the course of history located at the border with Ukraine, the border which shall soon become an external border of the European Union. It tries to make use of such location. Created border-crossing point Krościenko-Smolnica facilitates its mandate superbly. Other virtues of the town and commune are: attractive areas for investment, including 10 km long shore-line of the biggest artificial lake in Poland: Solina, attractive plots at the border-crossing, as well as economically attractive forest complexes. All that in the conditions of unique in the European scale quality of natural environment, making the whole area of the commune, tourist region of a high standard.
